1/4 Life Crisis

You know how they say everyone goes through a 1/4 life crisis right before they're about to graduate university? I'm going through one. I've come to the realization that I love talking and writing about tv. But not tabloid stuff. I could not hate tabloids more. I do love tv production and much to my surprise I'm not in love with programming right now. But I attribute that to the fact that I was going mostly paperwork at this job. My contract ends next week and it's not being renewed because Alliance is on a one semester per intern policy. It's stupid as hell. So now I'm confused. I interned at the tabloid show - hated it, the movie publicity firm - liked it but it was toxic, plus I liked it mostly because I loved my boss who promptly forgot who I was the moment I wasn't her intern anymore and I'm not really feeling tv programming but maybe that's because it was at the food network.

Lately I've been reconsiderng my schooling. I wonder if RTA was the right place for me, if I would have been better suited in journalism or even political science. But considering I hate formal essays and hundreds of pages of reading I doubt PS would have been for me either.

I know one thing, I want to get out of Canada or Ontario at the very least. I've been sheltered here, I need to get out and see the world. Maybe write about what I see.

I'm just confused. Is anyone else feeling this way?

Hey folks, so I'm doing a research paper on the Gilmore Girls forums at TWoP and could really use your help. I've put a survey below the LJ cut. If you could answer it by sometime tonight that would be fantastic. Feel free to leave questions blank if you don't have comments or don't want to answer them. If you have any online friends who would be willing to fill it out let me know.

Are you a member of TWoP?

What is your screen name, if you have one.
Kelly Taylor needs to get the fuck off of Melrose Place. I get that it was a spin off and they needed her to establish the show but it's episode 3 and she's still there. I hate Kelly Taylor. More. than. any. other. person. on. tv. I wish the bitch would have overdosed during her cocaine phase with Colin. Ok, back to Melrose.

Can Logan please dump Veronica's ass. She didn't say 'I love you', she said yes. Non-denial denial.

His woobie face at the end when he saw her ignore his call was heartbreaking. He loves her way too much. Poor guy's had horrible luck with women.

Are you a member of Television Without Pity? Do you post on the Gilmore Girls fan board? Do you read the site but don't post? If so, would you be willing to talk to me about your involvement/interaction with others on the site?

My major paper for English this year is an Ethnography of the Gilmore Girls discussion boards at Television Without Pity and I need to interview folks.

Drop me a comment if you're up to answering a few questions one day via email/AIM/LJ even.

Do you 'know' anyone online who might be willing to answer a few questions? Any help would be greatly appreciated. I've made this post public so more than my usual friend only group can view it.

So please, HELP! Thank guys.
