1/4 Life Crisis

You know how they say everyone goes through a 1/4 life crisis right before they're about to graduate university? I'm going through one. I've come to the realization that I love talking and writing about tv. But not tabloid stuff. I could not hate tabloids more. I do love tv production and much to my surprise I'm not in love with programming right now. But I attribute that to the fact that I was going mostly paperwork at this job. My contract ends next week and it's not being renewed because Alliance is on a one semester per intern policy. It's stupid as hell. So now I'm confused. I interned at the tabloid show - hated it, the movie publicity firm - liked it but it was toxic, plus I liked it mostly because I loved my boss who promptly forgot who I was the moment I wasn't her intern anymore and I'm not really feeling tv programming but maybe that's because it was at the food network.

Lately I've been reconsiderng my schooling. I wonder if RTA was the right place for me, if I would have been better suited in journalism or even political science. But considering I hate formal essays and hundreds of pages of reading I doubt PS would have been for me either.

I know one thing, I want to get out of Canada or Ontario at the very least. I've been sheltered here, I need to get out and see the world. Maybe write about what I see.

I'm just confused. Is anyone else feeling this way?

So history is done. Exams are done. I have 5 shooting days of practicum and 3 days left of work over the next month.

On a side note explain to me why the fuck Dan Savage of Savage love is on CNN talking about Mary Chaney's baby. It's funny seeing Anderson Cooper try not to bitch slap the woman who's saying gays shouldn't have the right to have kids.

Ok must sleep, have to be up at 5:30am to go to the burbs so my mother can catch her flight to Newfoundland tomorrow morning.

I wrote 10 pages on Gilmore Girls today. I'm not done yet but I'm close. I need a shower to stay awake and then I'll finish. Waking up early to do the works cited list and I still have 4 hours tomorrow at school to tweak it. All this work and I'll be lucky if I get a C. Yay!

If it wasn't for Luke and Chris fighting on Tuesday I would hate this damn show even more than I did before I started this paper.

Can someone please explain to me why I volunteered to go into work for a few hours this morning on what would have been a day off to sleep in?l

More importantly why the hell did I decide to stay up until 3:30? obv_hot_mess I blame your squeeing ass.

Also: Piz on Veronica Mars freaks me out. Hopefully he'll turn out to be the killer/what the fuck they try to stuff down my throat in the 3rd mystery arc. He just gives me the creeps.

Also note to Veronica Mars: PLEASE STOP SUCKING. I STILL LOVE YOU BUT I AM THIS CLOSE TO DUMPING YOU LIKE I DID THE CREEK IN SEASON 2.

So I've read that SoapNet airs Melrose Place in syndication in the US. That makes me think that someone must be recording and putting these episodes online but I can't find them anywhere.

If anyone knows of any Melrose groups here on LJ can you give me a heads up? There's so way I'm gonna be able to stop watching. Kimberly just showed up. And she totally wants Michael.

So as you all know I have a tv blog over at wordpress but I think the time has come to actually invest in a domain name and some webhosting space. The problem however is coming up with a name for this new site since tvdork.com isn't free. My head is about to explode and the best I've come up with so far are: MediaObsessed.com and PopCultureWatch.com I'm not sold on either and think they're too serious or sociological. PLEASE HELP. Also if anyone's interested in being part of a small blog start up in any way let me know. You can visit http://tvdork.wordpress.com to see my writing style.
